The Rifles Regiment Gift Collection

The Rifles Regiment, formed on February 1, 2007, is a modern British Army unit with deep historical roots. It is the amalgamation of four very distinguished regiments: the Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry, the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Light Infantry, the Light Infantry, and the Royal Green Jackets. These regiments brought with them rich legacies from the Monmouth Rebellion, Napoleonic Wars as well as both World War I & World War II.

Embracing the ethos of light infantry, The Rifles focus on speed, agility, and precision, encapsulated in their motto, "Swift and Bold."

They focus upon marksmanship, reconnaissance, and the use of advanced technology, making them very adept and flexible for modern conflicts.

Since their formation, The Rifles have been actively involved in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, building a reputation for their versatility and effectiveness in challenging environments. Their battalions maintain unique identities, blending traditional pride with operational flexibility.
