The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment was formed in 1959, as an amalgamation of the Royal Berkshire Regiment and the Wiltshire Regiment, combining centuries of esteemed military heritage.  From the historic battlefields of the American Revolutionary War to the pivotal conflicts of the Napoleonic Wars and the World Wars, the regiment consistently demonstrated exceptional bravery and fortitude.

Celebrated for their unwavering discipline, tactical proficiency, and dedication to duty, the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment excelled in diverse combat scenarios. On 27th July 1994, as part of a broader restructuring of the British Army, the regiment was amalgamated with the Gloucestershire Regiment to form the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment and then, on 1st February 2007, they joined with the Royal Green Jackets and Light Infantry to create The Rifles Regiment. However, the enduring spirit and traditions of the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment continue to thrive within this new formation, embodying a legacy of steadfast service, resilience, and distinguished excellence within the British Army.
